Role Overview:
The Head of IT Infrastructure and IT Security is a key leadership position responsible for guiding the organization’s critical digital and infrastructural systems. The role entails managing interdisciplinary teams, setting strategic direction for the hospital's IT landscape, and overseeing comprehensive security and infrastructure architectures to ensure a stable, secure, and efficient operation.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Several years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure, security, or data center operations
• Strong understanding of current infrastructure architectures (network, servers, virtualization, storage, cloud, IAM)
• Experience in regulated or security-critical environments, preferably within healthcare or KRITIS settings
• Knowledge of Security Operations, monitoring, Zero-Trust architectures, and security frameworks
• Excellent organizational, strategic, and communication skills
• Proven ability to motivate and develop teams
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage teams responsible for network, server/storage, cloud, workplace, IAM, and security operations
• Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for the hospital’s IT infrastructure
• Ensure stable, secure, and cost-effective IT operations
• Oversee infrastructure and platform architecture including core networks, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, data centers, cloud services, and security architectures
• Manage KRITIS and §8a compliance responsibilities, including documents, audits, and security standards
• Drive major modernization and security projects, including network redesigns and cloud transformations
• Oversee budget planning, procurement, and vendor management
• Represent the department in internal committees and with external partners
• Promote transparent decision-making and collaborative problem-solving across teams and stakeholders
Requirements:
• Relevant leadership experience in IT infrastructure or security
• Profound knowledge of modern infrastructure components and architectures
• Experience in regulated environments, healthcare sector is a plus
• Familiarity with KRITIS standards and security compliance requirements
• Readiness to work on-site in a hybrid environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and lead teams strategically
